What do you do with my personal info that I enter into my profile?
How long does it take for my videos to go live on HighSchoolPlaybook.com?
OMG, there's a photo of me that I do NOT want up here. What do I do?
There's, like, a bunch of advertisements and stuff on your site. What's the deal?
I'm not good with cameras, but I like to write. Can I contribute to High School Playbook at all?
I'm not on an official school team - can I still be on High School Playbook?
I am being harassed by someone on HighSchoolPlaybook.com. What should I do?
How can I report offensive or inappropriate pictures and stuff?
I really love some of the photos on the site - can I order prints of these?
That's okay, you can still check out the site without linking yourself to a school. Simply choose the market closest to you and create a profile there. You can just hang out in their town until we come to yours.
You don't need a profile to use the site - you can still view public images and video - but you will be limited in what you can actually do if you are not logged in. In order to upload media (video, pics), post a blog entry, make friends, join groups?really, in order to take any action at all, you need to set up a profile.
Short answer: nothing you don't want us to. Long answer: when you first create your profile, we ask you to check a box that says "I do not want to receive information..." If you don't want us to share your info with our advertising partners, then check that box and we won't. That's a promise.
As with most social networks and multi-media sites, you really won't get the full effect of HighSchoolPlaybook.com unless you've logged in. As a "guest" (not logged in), you can browse the site and check out video, photo, and blog content - but only if it's public. If not logged in, you won't be able to upload your own content, view your friends - private content, add friends or groups, rate public content, or edit your profile
Once logged in, you can upload from anywhere on the site that you see the "UPLOAD" button. You can also upload very easily from your logged-in profile page.
That depends when you upload it, but no more than 24 hours. We've got video moderators working virtually around the clock to make sure that only appropriate and non-offensive video is uploaded to the site. Because each piece of video is viewed before being posted, it will not appear on the site right away. We're sorry for the delay, but we believe it's important that the video on the site not contain violence, hate language, nudity, or other offensive/inappropriate material.
No, we do not "moderate" comments - we let the community decide what comments are inappropriate. If you find something offensive, go ahead and flag it - we'll give it a look.
You are Booyah. You live the Booyah. The Booyah is you.
Sideline Reporters are next-gen news anchors. They are real, live students from schools in High School Playbook's markets, paid by our local television affiliates to report on the most important high school match-ups in your area. If you'd like to apply to be a sideline reporter, contact us.
Absolutely! Since HighSchoolPlaybook.com is all about your school and your sports, getting your teammates and classmates involved will only make the site that much better. Talk to your coach or teacher about being an official statistician for HighSchoolPlaybook.com, or contact us. We have a special "lesson plan" for Journalism and Yearbook classes as well - so if you teach one of these courses, or if you think your teacher would be interested, contact us.
If the photo is offensive or inappropriate, you can flag it as such and it will be reviewed by our editorial team. If it's simply a photo you do not like, HighSchoolPlaybook.com cannot force anyone to remove photos, but you can simply message that user and ask him/her nicely to remove it.
Nope. Using the site doesn't cost a penny.
HighSchoolPlaybook.com is free-of-charge for our members, so we sell advertising to offset the cost of running the site and shooting the hundreds of new sports videos every week. We work hard to only incorporate relevant advertising - that is, stuff that is important to you and other users. Our ads are also locally targeted, making them even more relevant to the users who live in your area.
Of course you can - the best thing about High School Playbook is that everyone can participate in all sorts of ways. You can use the blog feature to write about games or players, or simply to share your thoughts. We're also always looking for stats and scores on the site; if you're interested in helping out with that, contact us.
Yes you can, and yes they can. Which is why we recommend that you don't put anything in your profile that is secret, private, personal, embarrassing, or could get you - or someone you know - into any trouble. You'll soon be able to make certain parts of your profile private so they are only viewable by you and your friends - and when that new tool is available, we'll be sure to let everyone know.
Of course! Playbook is for classmates, friends, fans, family and everyone else with an interest in the high school sports community. You're welcome to join a public group or start your own, too.
You should let us know right away and we'll look into the issue. We have a set of guidelines on how to treat your fellow members on the site, and violations of our code of conduct will not be tolerated.
Every piece of media - photos, blogs, videos, etc - will have a button that says "flag as inappropriate." Click that and our staff will be notified to take a look at it.
That's a great idea! We're working on that right now, and we hope for you to be able to purchase prints sometime this fall. So stay tuned.
Local Playbook reps will be attending games in your market throughout the year, and they'll be giving away cool Playbook stuff. We're also adding a 'store' to the site very soon - there you'll be able to buy a Playbook shirt in your school colors.
Absolutely. We understand that some students play more than one sport, so we encourage you to join those teams on Playbook - but only if you are officially on that team. If you're a friend or relative of a player, or if you just really like that sport, you are more than welcome to join an associated group or start a group of your own.
